CLICK HERE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BECOME "A FRIEND OF THE BATTALION".

Welcome. Thank you for taking time to look at our Web Site. (If you know all about the Boys' Brigade, please move straight to the second paragraph.) The Boys' Brigade was started in Scotland in 1883 and is the oldest voluntary boys uniformed organisation in the world. That does not mean that we are old fashioned, in fact we have just introduced a new uniform to take us into the 21 st century. All Brigade units are connected to Churches and meet as part of the Church's Youth Programme. As we are "The Boys' Brigade", we cater for boys, but all of our Churches have a girls organisation running alongside, and details of these can be had from the Captain of each unit. We cater for 5 - 18 year olds; the 5 - 7 year olds in the Anchor Section, the 8 - 10 year olds in the Junior Section and the 11 -18 year olds in the Company and Senior Sections.

Boys' Brigade work in our area started in the early years of this century and we now have 15 units in an area stretching from Chelsea and Tooting in the north to Epsom and Horley in the south. In each unit it is our aim that everyone who comes along should have an enjoyable evening as they play and work together, learning new topics as they take part in the badgework. Our top badge is the Queen's Badge and many of our units also provide opportunities for their members to obtain the Duke of Edingburh's Award.

If you would like to visit or join any of our Brigade units then do get in touch with the Captain whose phone number can be found by clicking "Find a Company near to YOU!" in the left index. I know that you will receive a warm welcome.
